REPORTS TO:  PDSS Program Finance Manager

SUPERVISES:  None

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and initial analysis of assigned projects for Cost, Schedule and Performance
  • Oversee the opening and closing of work item charge codes to ensure accurate and timely codes are made available to Program Management team.
  • Interfaces with customer and internal departments on preparation of project status for the Program
  • Responsible for collecting deliverable inputs from various departments and assists in reviewing for technical and administrative correctness prior to submitting to customer Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL’s)
  • Participates in weekly and ad-hoc meetings (project managers, customer, subcontractor) as required and may be required to capture minutes, action items periodically for Program Meetings
  • Facilitating estimate-at-completion (EAC) and estimate –to-complete (ETC) development and maintenance with the functional areas
  • Efficiently track all daily and weekly production progress.
  • Create weekly financial reports for Managers.
  • Analyze Empower data to produce accurate variance analyst reports (VARS) and evaluate earned value management system (EVMS) metrics in relation to the Control Account Managers (CAM’s).
  • Research of all discrepancies in charging and be able to resolve them quickly and accurately.
  • Support subcontractor Financial Management (monitor tasking, expedite EACs/ETCs, funding plus ups, performance to plan, manning, etc.)
  • Support management and reconciliation of government funding
  • Provide motivation, maintain morale, minimize confrontation and encourage positive working relationships with all production and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
  • Must be willing to develop other team member’s skill levels.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  •   BS or BA degree required in Business related field, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Economics, Statistics
  • Four (4) years’ relative experience in a shipbuilding and/or ship repair or Department of Defense (DOD) contractor experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of one or more Program Management functions.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills. Ability to analyze and summarize information effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization skills required
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven research and analysis skills required.
  • Working knowledge of shipbuilding methodologies and processes required
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Data/Configuration Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Government contracts preferred
  • Basic knowledge of EVMS, Primavera, and/ or Empower experience required.
  • Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Must be willing to develop other team member’s skill levels.

LIAISES WITH:  Functional Groups, Contracts, Finance, and Program Department, subcontractors and customers on a daily basis..

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:

  • Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment with Austal USA:
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to provide proof of US Person Status
  • No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within

   seven years from disposition date

  • No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from

  disposition date

  • Willing to submit to a drug screen
  • Willing to submit to a background check

The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
