REPORTS TO: Material Program Manager
SUPERVISES: Material Program Coordinators (I, II, & III), Material Program Associates
GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Material Program Lead, PDSS is responsible for ensuring that material and service requirements are met successfully for delivered ships as well as maintain unified material relations with new construction projects. They are involved in every stage of projects under post-delivery scope from pre-planning to post project wrap up. This position includes interaction with all aspects of our organization and has a strong interest in professional development to the next level.
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as key liaison between Purchasing, Program/Project Management, Production, Logistics, and Engineering, to ensure seamless flow of information between internal customers on all Procurement matters for a specified Program.
Utilize project data to make future projects more productive and cost-efficient; and is in harmony with our culture of Accountability and high exceptional customer service.
Identifies and supports material and services cost reduction processes at the Enterprise level.
Maintain consistent communication and interaction with Material Program Coordinators for Enterprise level communication and reporting
Support material or services requirements at offsite locations which may require air travel. The potential for offsite travel can be in excess of 30%.
Ensure adequate processes exist and are maintained at all times for fast paced, developing business needs and ensure they are adequately followed Participates in relevant projects, manages minor projects, ensures documentation is maintained, process improvements occur consistently, and other support as required by manager.
Gather information, including financial impacts, and work with Engineering and Project Management for new construction and post-delivery organizations and provide direction on cannibalizations, Navy borrows and material transfers, and restoration of donor projects; consider risks and determine least impact to the company.
Must be effective in time management while dealing with multiple projects and tasks.
Responsible for ensuring team facilitates that all material deficiencies are cured and trial cards or other material related matters are satisfied in support of all post delivery work scope.
Support Sr Material Program Manager on material related matters in preparation for various Executive Review meetings.
Works closely with Purchasing and Scheduling to coordinate schedules and priorities for material and services and ensure Project teams are kept abreast of any conflicts or resource constraints
Creates materials estimates as needed to be submitted to management
Troubleshoots materials and service orders and proactively escalates issues to mitigate problems in meeting delivery schedules
Sets up site visits and job walks for suppliers’ estimates; ensures jobs are scheduled to take place with subcontractors to meet Production needs Responsible for performance appraisals for direct reports
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Material Management, or related field preferred; 9years’ related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
5 years of Material Program related experience required
Must be accessible and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when deemed necessary
Detail-oriented, meticulous individual
Exceptionally strong organizational and prioritization skills required
Good vocabulary and grammar skills and the ability to independently compose routine and clearly written communications
Manufacturing/industrial product knowledge, construction project scope, and supplier base required
Basic ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings required
Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate on issues and work together to actively reach resolution with suppliers, coworkers, internal customers and Sr. Management with Purchasing Team members and Program Management Ability to recognize critical situations and immediately take appropriate action Computer proficient utilizing all Microsoft Office applications, moderate skills in Excel are required
Demonstrate high initiative and drive to address problems and drive to resolution
Manage time and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communicator
Interact effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization including senior management

The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
