AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the maintaining of the risk management program that supports the Company’s strategic goals while complying with state and federal laws as well as accreditation standards
  • Liaisons with Risk Management consultants and Insurance brokers and agents
  • Coordinates with Executive Management on the risk management strategy to support Corporate strategic objectives
  • Develops, documents and implements standard systems, policies and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk management related data
  • Develops and implements effective communication and education program to ensure on-going compliance to risk management standards throughout the Company
  • Develops and implements performance metrics and benchmarks related to risk performance/compliance
  • Prepares and maintains risk registers for the organization
  • Assesses the Company's catastrophic and non-catastrophic exposures and coordinates with management on the appropriate program structure
  • Works with broker network to structure comprehensive and competitively priced insurance program, bidding the business out to insurers, as required
  • Oversees all insurance for organization to include annual renewal options, ad hoc needs, and tracking of certificates of insurance
  • Oversees management of current claims to include liaison with adjusters as needed
  • Participates in workers’ compensation claim reviews
  • Liaisons with Contracts, Legal and Supply Chain in the development of the terms and conditions associated with insurance requirements for a customer or supplier
  • Supports special internal projects

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting (BS/BA), required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in risk management at another organization and/or within the insurance industry required
  • Ability to build strong relationships, strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate and address questions with all levels of management.
  • Must work with a sense of urgency and have the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner. Can handle demands from multiple customers and has the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams/organizations with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail, organization skills a must.
  • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude to utilize MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

LIAISES WITH: All departmental personnel, Senior Leadership, Finance Team, Controller, CFO, consultants and insurance broker/agents/representatives.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
