REPORTS TO:  Strategic Sourcing Manager


JOB SUMMARY:  Provides support to the procurement function by collecting and compiling material, pricing and supplier information ascertained through online research.


  • Using material lists as point of reference, conducts online searches to locate needed material, pricing data and supplier information.
  • Identifies and contacts competitive supplier sources.
  • Identifies and prepares appropriate documentation needed for requesting quotes from suppliers; executes the requests.
  • Evaluates supplier response. Documents and communicates findings.
  • Assures production needs are met


  • High school diploma/GED. College course-work in a related field preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to listen and understand needs and requirements and communicate to suppliers
    • Ability to maintain professional relationships with vendors and co-workers
  • Computer-literate in all Microsoft applications; intermediate knowledge of Excel (V-lookup and pivot table experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of internet searching
  • Strong organization skills
  • Basic negotiation skills preferred.
  • Flexible, process-oriented, customer service-driven problem solver with strong reasoning skills, who is a self-starter and a team player, energized by a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand basic legal terms and technical terms and principles
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to think creatively
